You will have a bit of work if you want to fully convert to Linux.
The most sage piece of advice is to try out Linux on a select few
machines and see if they will be a good fit in your organization. If
they will not work out for the bulk of your operations, you may still
be able to find a suitable purpose and reduce your overall operational
cost. If you choose to operate in a mixed environment, consider
cross-platform solutions for your other software such as OpenOffice.
